Overcoming fear.

As I sit here contemplating all the times I have "done it scared", I wonder how I can still be dealing with fear. I am naturally curious and adventurous in many areas of my life, but there are areas of my life that are guarded with fear. This blog post is me, "doing it scared". I love to speak one on one with people, and often tell them way more than they wish to know. When it comes to writing or speaking/being in public-I am terrified. I fear judgement. Who doesn't? I admire those who can command an audience and I personally love to listen to great orators and learn from leading health experts and scholars through webinars, coursework, and podcasts. I have something to say, I have value to add! I have got to get over this block in my life where I keep my talents and offerings hidden for fear of judgment. I am an outside of the box thinker. I am always seeking new information and ways to solve problems. I am not afraid to try new ways of doing things, as long as I do not have to give a talk or do a video about it. These things will change-this is me, beginning a new thing.

We are different, each and every one of us. We all have something to offer this world, but the world will never know it if we hide our treasures under a rock. I am encouraging you to start doing the things that you know are your gifts, but you fear. Let go of what you are afraid of, that thing that is holding you back from what you are meant to do in this world. Those that are meant to be in your life will be there. By opening up your true self, you draw the people who have been waiting. Yes, sometimes when you start to practice true self-expression, you may gain a few nay sayers. Let it be so. Live authentic. Be encouraged to know that we overcome fear by doing the things we are afraid of, and that makes us brave. Blessings.
